Toray Unveils High-Strength Carbon Fiber TORAYCA™ T1200
October 30, 2025 — Toray Industries, Inc. has announced the successful launch of TORAYCA™ T1200 carbon fiber, one of the world's strongest carbon fibers to date, marking another significant breakthrough in Toray's carbon fiber technology.
Produced at Toray's new plant in Agematsu-cho, Ehime Prefecture, TORAYCA™ T1200 is designed to meet diverse needs ranging from sports and leisure to aerospace applications. This product excels in performance, featuring a 12K small-tow design with a tensile strength of up to 8.0 GPa, more than 10% higher than the 7.0 GPa of its predecessor, TORAYCA™ T1100. Meanwhile, its tensile modulus falls between that of T800S and T1100, with a slightly higher density than T1100.
Since the introduction of TORAYCA™ T1000 in 1986, Toray has continuously innovated in the field of carbon fibers, striving to develop products with superior performance and broader applications. Carbon fibers above the T1000 grade, with their exceptional strength and stiffness, have become ideal choices for demanding environments in aerospace, automotive, sports equipment, and more.
